Bookkeeper

The Bookkeeper reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with staff on client accounts. They handle the fundamental aspects of the organization’s financial recordkeeping, including recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, closing out monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports and completing information needed for tax filings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage invoicing process in coordination with internal client account managers, including preparing and sending invoices to clients, and following up on delinquent accounts
  • Deposit and/or transfer and record client payments in appropriate accounts
  • Secure and maintain internal tracking for client assets (debit cards, etc.)
  • Process and pay approved vendor invoices in a timely manner, according to established payment schedule
  • Reconcile operating account and all client accounts monthly
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system, including confidential records for company and employees, such as payroll and tax information
  • Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records
  • Maintain the chart of accounts in Quickbooks, assist with preparing the company annual budget, and enter the budget into QuickBooks
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports (income statement, balance sheet, accounts payables and receivables, budget variance, etc.)
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
  • Serve as the back­up for processing payroll with payroll company in accordance with company payroll schedule
  • Process commissions monthly and quarterly
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Communicate with staff, vendors and banking contacts
  • Track company assets for accounting and tax purposes
  • Process mail for accounting department
  • Provide information to the outside accountant as requested
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned, particularly in the areas of Operations and Human Resources

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Very strong technical accounting GAAP skills

Email Marketing Manager

The Email Marketing Manager is an experienced digital campaigner who is passionate about politics and the media world. They have the ability to translate client’s vision and goals into a top-flight email program. The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for overall strategy for assigned clients and client satisfaction. They work with the email marketing team to produce deliverables and provide client quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the day-to-day contact and strategy lead for multiple email clients, including campaigns, ballot initiatives, campaign committees and nonprofits
  • Works closely with clients and email team to develop strategy, messaging, revenue projects and models; updating as needed based on results
  • Works with Directors and Partners to draft memos, projections, spending and fundraising plans
  • Supervises coordinators client facing work and is responsible for junior staff’s professional development
  • Assists with developing new business and actively develops relationships with clients and participates in industry events
  • Onboards new clients and manages financial and contractual aspects of projects with supervision of director/partner

Writer

The Writer is responsible for creating engaging, authentic content, driving client strategy, and utilizing messaging to mobilize supporters. This position is responsible for writing, editing, and developing content for client email campaigns as well as for other digital properties.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research, develop and deliver compelling email and digital content, including email messages, blog posts, feature articles, and social media assets to effectively communicate client messaging to meet campaign goals.
  • Works with the Client Strategy Director and team of Email Marketing Managers to stay current on client messaging and strategy.
  • Drafts RTI marketing content, including case studies, one-pagers, brochures and website content.
  • Assists with drafting business development materials, including proposals and presentations.
  • Identifies, researches, and recommends opportunities available for client digital content and ensures content is aligned with established client messaging and optimized for social shares.
  • Supports distribution of content.

Junior Designer

Video Editor/Motion Graphic Designer

The Video Editor/Motion Graphic Designer works with the design team as needed to create engaging graphics and video that drive people to action. This position is a part-time, independent contracted position that works remotely on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and edit web videos from start to finish
  • Design motion graphics and text for videos
  • Work on a variety of motion projects from composited text and graphics over footage to completely animated videos

Paid Digital Internship

This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate with a focus in politics, government, marketing, advertising, or communications to learn marketable skills in digital politics. If you’re eager to learn, organized, and creative, you may be the right candidate!

Responsibilities include:

  • Draft and edit outbound email and ad copy
  • Build, send, and monitor blast emails
