Paid Digital Internship

This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate with a focus in politics, government, marketing, advertising, or communications to learn marketable skills in digital politics. If you’re eager to learn, organized, and creative, you may be the right candidate!

Responsibilities include:

  • Draft and edit outbound email and ad copy
  • Build, send, and monitor blast emails
  • Create and update email and ad reports
  • Help with the development of creating ads
  • Perform market research
  • Assist teams with client services

Candidates should have experience writing, a keen eye for proofreading, familiarity with Microsoft Excel and a passion to learn digital marketing and Democratic politics.

Knowledge of CRM platforms like Salsa, NGP, and BSD and demonstrated analytical abilities will be a plus.

Interns should be available for a minimum of 20 hours a week starting immediately and will be offered a stipend as compensation. Current undergraduates may instead accept academic credit if desired.

Email Marketing Coordinator

The Email Marketing Coordinator implements client strategies to achieve targeted goals and supports Managers/Directors/Partners by providing reliable data on campaign application.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in developing content concepts and monthly calendars for a variety of Democratic, progressive and non-profit clients
  • Assist in drafting copy and performing research as directed by Managers and Director
  • Produce and test CRM product, building HTML emails and landing pages
  • Assist with quality assurance processes
  • Create and update reports to test return on investment for specific campaigns
  • Support principals on the day-to-day management of overall client relationship and satisfaction
  • Manage email list segmentation and personalization and implement strategies to grow distribution list to extend client reach

Email Marketing Manager

The Email Marketing Manager is an experienced digital campaigner who is passionate about politics and the media world. They have the ability to translate client’s vision and goals into a top-flight email program. The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for overall strategy for assigned clients and client satisfaction. They work with the email marketing team to produce deliverables and provide client quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the day-to-day contact and strategy lead for multiple email clients, including campaigns, ballot initiatives, campaign committees and nonprofits
  • Works closely with clients and email team to develop strategy, messaging, revenue projects and models; updating as needed based on results
  • Works with Directors and Partners to draft memos, projections, spending and fundraising plans
  • Supervises coordinators client facing work and is responsible for junior staff’s professional development
  • Assists with developing new business and actively develops relationships with clients and participates in industry events
  • Onboards new clients and manages financial and contractual aspects of projects with supervision of director/partner
  • Develops email content concepts and production and is responsible for client facing/day to day contact
  • Accountable for key performance indicators and overall client satisfaction
  • Manages monthly calendars and tracks budgets

Associate Director of Email Marketing

The Associate Director of Email Marketing is an experienced digital campaigner who is passionate about politics and the media world. They can blend roles as a senior digital strategist, political consultant and manager. The Associate Director is responsible for assisting the director in new business projects, team management, client strategy and department development. They work with the email marketing team to produce deliverables and provide client quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Works with Director to implement and meet department objectives
  • Supervise and train staff within the department
  • Develop systems for department to ensure timeline expectations are met and manage the day to day of all department deliverables
  • Establish/grow senior relationships with clients and relevant companies/agencies/service providers
  • Resolve escalated client issues as they develop
  • Grow and upsell clients on services as applicable
  • Support business development team, director and senior staff in winning/transitioning new clients
  • Manage billable hours and/or products
  • Lead senior level client meetings and attend regular client status meetings as appropriate
  • Actively participate in long term strategic planning for clients

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required:
