The Associate Director of Email Marketing is an experienced digital campaigner who is passionate about politics and the media world. They can blend roles as a senior digital strategist, political consultant and manager. The Associate Director is responsible for assisting the director in new business projects, team management, client strategy and department development. They work with the email marketing team to produce deliverables and provide client quality assurance.


Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Work with Director to implement and meet department objectives
  • Supervise and train staff within the department
  • Develop systems for department to ensure timeline expectations are met and manage the day to day of all department deliverables
  • Establish and grow senior relationships with clients and relevant companies, agencies, vendors
  • Resolve escalated client issues as they develop
  • Grow and upsell clients on services as applicable
  • Support business development team, Director and senior staff in winning and transitioning new clients
  • Manage billable hours and/or products
  • Lead senior level client meetings and attend regular client status meetings as appropriate
  • Actively participate in long term strategic planning for clients
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required: 
  • Demonstrated commitment to Democratic candidates and causes
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience with at least one of the following CRM Databases: Salsa, NGP or Blue State Digital
  • Excellent editing and writing skills and strong analytical abilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects when assigned
  • Must have superior project and time management capabilities within a fast paced, high productivity environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and effectively communicate and solve practical problems or issues
  • Able to work and communicate within a team structure while able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience managing department or client budgets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Must be highly motivated, action oriented, and client focused
  • A knack for political messaging and hunger to stay up to date on the rapidly changing political climate
Required Education and Experience:
  • Five to seven years of relevant digital, political or marketing experience.
  • Political experience such as at least two election cycles of digital work at a campaign, party committee, or political action committee, or similar non-profit experience is desired.
  • Experience interfacing with multiple clients and managing junior and mid-level staff
